We regularly release a minor update for iQualify. These updates mainly fix bugs. In addition, they may contain minor functional changes. These are improvements that make using iQualify even easier and can be used without explanation. Larger functional changes are only made available in a major update.

In this release, functional changes have been made and a number of bugs have been fixed. Curious about what has changed in minor release 5.5.2? We've summarised it for you on this page.

Close summative tests from management environment

A summative test usually has a formal character. This is certainly the case if the test is taken in the secure STE environment. For this reason, the time in which the test can be taken is often limited.

However, a student has to close his/her summative test to also confirm that the answers are final. This is sometimes forgotten or the time of the test has expired before they were able to close the test. As a supervisor, you can still close the test in the STE environment on behalf of the student so that the results can be processed. This option did not yet exist in the regular test environment. Because many tests are currently taken at home instead of from a secure location, you run into the problem that the test cannot be closed. This has now been changed. Both tests in the regular environment and in the STE environment can now be closed from the administration environment. This is only possible for summative tests and only if the learning period is no longer open. To do this, you need to select the test and click the close button. All started attempts are then permanently closed.

No connection

It may happen that while taking a test, a connection problem occurs between the student's computer and iQualify's server. There are all sorts of scenarios in which this can occur, it could be a problem at the user or in the national network. From Infoland, we make every effort to make our services available as much as possible and deploy seamless solutions automatically in case of any problems. More information on this can be found here: www.infoland.nl/saas.

If unexpectedly there is no connection, it is of course annoying, but not necessarily a problem. In this release, we have made sure to inform you about this by means of a warning at the top left. By clicking on the warning you will get additional explanation. At the moment this problem occurs, iQualify keeps trying to save answers that have not yet been saved due to the connection problem. As soon as the connection is restored, this happens. The warning disappears again when all data has been saved.

For a summative test, you will be additionally warned on the summary page if there are connection problems. It is therefore not possible to complete the test until the problem is fixed.

Personal data columns in reports equalised

Different reports dealt differently with what user information was shown. This has now been made the same for all standard excel reports. First, these two columns are always shown:
  • User (full name)
  • Username
Then the columns are shown with the data of the report. Then the columns are shown with the other information about user.
  • Groups
  • First name
  • Insert
  • Surname

This makes it possible to find and sort users in any way.

XLSX file import

The template to import users was still an old .XLS file. This has been changed to an XLSX file in this release.

Performance shared materials

The shared materials list shows tests and training courses shared with another learning management system (LMS). Because this list can be long and shows up-to-date information about the shared materials, it could take a long time to open it. In extreme cases, the list even gave error messages. You got the same effect on the dashboard with the list showing the most recently used shared learning materials. A change has now been made for performance purposes. The columns showing the number of participants and the number of comments are now no longer updated continuously, but every night.

Bug fixes

  • 60619: An error occurred when copying questions from a question pool when shared via subscription without the user also having rights to use the questions individually
  • 60777: Displaying a sample iQualify training in the catalogue gave an error message.
  • 61641: When starting a test via an LTI link where no language was specified for the user, the Dutch language was always applied instead of the language set in the organisation settings.
  • 61668: In the catalogue, answers to questions were not shown.
  • 61676: In the management website, a button was shown at a question to open the question. This opened a new tab with the same screen.

  • 61699: The "Question report on a learning period" report gave an error message if a pointer question occurred in a static test.
  • 61772: The "Participant Report" report showed empty charts for users who did complete tests.
  • 61801: Certificates were not always generated in the language set for the user at the time of completing a test.
  • 61814: When filling out the test, users received unclear error messages if a connection to the server could not be established.
