About four times a year, we release a major update for iProva. In these updates, we introduce new features and make already existing functionalities work even easier and better. In these updates, we also ensure that iProva is technically 'up to date' remains. In that context, we are adding support for new Microsoft product versions - and discontinuing support for Microsoft product versions that are outdated.

In iProva 5.10, we have added support for Windows Server 2019.
In contrast, support for Windows Server 2008 as well as SQL Server 2008 will be discontinued in early 2020.

End of support Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2

If your organisation is still using Windows Server 2008 (or 2008 R2) for the iProva client (in Terminal Server, Citrix and similar application scenarios). Then we recommend preparing to migrate to a more recent version of Windows Server.

Retrieved from 14 January 2020 will provide extended support for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be terminated by Microsoft. As a result, support for this Windows Server version in iProva will also be terminated.

You will effectively notice this with the first iProva major update coming out after 14 January 2020.
Support will no longer be provided by our service desk if problems occur on clients running any of these versions of Windows.

Updates to the iProva client applications (for Office/Outlook integration) you will not can install if still using Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2.
